Fest West Lubbock

As President of the SouthWest Ninety Niners User Group of Tucson, Arizona, I'd like to thank the citizens of Lubbock for the way we were received and treated while in your city.

On February 14, we held our annual TI-99/4A Computer Fair in your city. The title of our event was Fest West '98-Lubbock.Without the cooperation of all concerned, Fest West '98-Lubbock would never have happened. We made history on that day. As far as I know, this is the first time any group of computer users has come to the facility in which its computer was manufactured to thank the company and its employees for all they had done for them.

While in Lubbock, the citizens we encountered treated us with every courtesy and consideration. We felt as though we were very welcome. No one we met treated us badly. The citizens of Lubbock deserve a pat on the back for their friendliness. Some of the people who came to Lubbock for this event came from as far away as Europe. They were able to return to their respective countries talking about the southwestern hospitality they experienced while in Lubbock.

Thank you again to the citizens of Lubbock.Everyone from the Convention and Tourism Bureau to the hotel staff, from the fine people at Texas Instruments to the waiters and waitresses, from Citibus to store clerks all treated us like guests in your lovely city. Even the weatherman was nice to us.
